How to open a baseball game

(Updated below.)

The problem: Sporting events that open with insulting renditions of the United States National Anthem performed by talentless pop "singers" whose self-aggrandizing vocal gymnastics destroy the dignity of the occasion.

The solution: a Navy band.

    Just curious?? Why wasn't the Navy Band in Newport playing the Anthem vise the DC Band?

    Navy Band Newport was the band I was in that did the Red Sox game circa 1982-85.

  7. Anon- CHINFO called us up about a week before the game. At that point we usually don't ask why! ;)
